living on ice vocabulary

For today one of our tasks was to read an article called living on the ice. Then after we had read the article we had to find the definition of each word. I made mine on Canva  and i took me around 30 minutes to make and publish on my blog. What was the most interesting word for you?

I hope that you are having a safe time in lock-down.

  1. Kia ora Emma - wonderful effort completing this reading task. The most interesting word for me was 'prosaic' - commonplace. I hadn't heard of this word before, I really enjoy learning something new! You presented your research in a clear, easy to follow Canva document. Next time, you could slightly adjust some of the writing for the definitions as there were three words covered up by the page arrows. Keep up the fabulous home learning. Take care. 2. Kia ora Emma,
Thank you for sharing your Reading task on 'Living on Ice'. What was the most interesting fact from the article?
It is great to see you using Canva to display your work as it is eyecatching and clear. Did you know many of these words from the text?
It reminds me of when it was a VERY cold winter in Scotland and it felt like I would get frost bite if I went outside.

  3. Kia ora Emma,

It's great to see you have learned a number of new words at home. I like that you presented the word list in multiple slides with colorful, captivating design. You also included some images to illustrate the meaning. Impressive job, Emma!
The most interesting word for me was "crevasse", which I didn't know before. I think it'd be helpful if next time you could include the pronunciation or phonetic transcription of some difficult words.

    Stay safe,
    Miss Helen

  4. Hi Emma!
    I really like your presentation!
    I did one too!
Except it wasn't as detailed because I did it on google drawing,
I also really like the little pictures you had underneath the definitions.
For me the most interesting word is "volatile",
I have heard someone use it before but I never knew what it meant but now that I do it makes sense,
I guess it can be used to describe emotion as well?
Anyways, I hope you have a great day and keep up the great work!

  6. Kia Ora Emma,
I really like the way you chose to set it out on a slideshow that looks very creative.
I also really like the little pictures you did underneath the writing, that makes it look very effective.
Next time you could change one of the slideshows, other than that it looks fabulous.
